Rhythm, coordination and groove
Develop a strong sense of time while learning practical drum-kit technique, musical phrasing, grooves, fills and soloing.
The learning direction and pace can be matched to the student’s current level, experience and goals.
Drums are currently taught in individual lessons, giving each student focused guidance on technique, coordination, rhythm and musical development.
Complete beginners are welcome, as are returning players and students ready to develop more advanced control, grooves and soloing.
Drum kits are provided in AOR’s lesson rooms, so students can learn on the instrument during their lesson.
Learn for enjoyment or follow Rockschool or Trinity Rock & Pop. The AOR Drum curriculum progresses from rhythmic foundations through creative phrasing, coordination and advanced musical control.
Students can follow Rockschool or Trinity Rock & Pop graded pathways and work towards AOR’s year-end performance opportunities.
Performance participation is optional and subject to teacher assessment, preparation, rehearsal requirements and event availability.
